Our Story
Welcome to CattailWild, where we believe that fresh, local, ethically raised food should be at the center of everyone's table. We live on 82 beautiful acres in Turtle Valley, part of the Shuswap region in British Columbia, Canada. Our diverse farm is made up of wetland, rock bluffs and everything in between. Our goal is to honour this beautiful land while providing healthy, home grown food for our family, friends and community.
We have lived at this farm since 2013, but have only actively been farming since 2023. What started with a desire to grow our own food, soon expanded to a roadside stand, and then a farmer's market booth. Now we are always searching for different avenues to get food to the consumer. Our no waste approach means that fresh veg that we don't sell, ends up preserved and sold as dehydrated or canned goods. All ingredients for our canning comes from our property, or is sourced from small local farms during the peak of season.
Our animals are raised ethically, as animals should be, with access to fresh pasture (during the times of year it's available) and their well-being is always our first priority. Our laying hens and meat birds always have access to sunlight, bugs and grass/dirt so they can live as chickens are meant to.
Transparency in everything that we do is important to us, so if you have questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
